Inside the network
🔺What happened: AgriFORCE Growing Systems is rebranding to AVAX One and will raise $550 million to fund its transition to a company dedicated to acquiring AVAX, the native token of the Avalanche blockchain.
🔺Why it matters: AVAX One, backed by Anthony Scaramucci and Hivemind Capital, aims to accumulate over $700 million in AVAX tokens through a $300 million PIPE placement and up to $250 million in equity-linked financing.
The rebrand looks to help Avalanche gain more visibility on Wall Street by creating a publicly traded entity on the Nasdaq that offers indirect exposure to AVAX. A regulated listed company would bypass the hurdles of direct crypto ownership, like custody risks and volatility concerns, letting traditional institutions, often restricted by compliance mandates, invest in AVAX One’s stock to gain exposure to Avalanche’s ecosystem. The ecosystem also hopes to draw the attention of hedge funds, pensions and corporations, which may prefer to deploy their capital in equity markets.
🔺The bigger picture: This development has heightened demand for AVAX tokens: AVAX One’s stock surged over 200% following the announcement.
AVAX One looks to extend Avalanche’s use case beyond just holding the token, and plans to acquire fintech firms and integrate them into the ecosystem to enable real-world applications across tokenization and DeFi. If implemented well, this initiative could further bridge traditional finance with blockchains by enhancing institutional-grade security and scalability across Wall Street.
