Injecting in the biggest developments
Highlighting some of the largest announcements from Injective.
🥷What’s happening: Injective deployed stocks: Meta (META), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN) and Netflix (NFLX) to its iAssets offerings, completing the network’s onchain trading support of the Magnificent 7 (MAG 7): Apple, Microsoft, Google parent Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Meta and Tesla.
🥷Why it matters: Injective’s iAssets is its initiative designed to improve liquidity options for users onchain, while furthering its mission to bridge TradFi and DeFi. The option to trade equities onchain can gain more flexibility and unlock DeFi opportunities such as hedging, lending and yield generation for its users globally.
The inclusion of META on Injective is particularly interesting because it means the network fully supports the MAG 7 for trading. In the traditional world, these companies are seen as tech giants, known for their significant influence on global markets. Unlike traditional stock exchanges, which operate in limited timeframes, Monday to Friday, iAssets enable continuous trading, enhancing flexibility for global investors. In turn, having MAG 7 support can position Injective as a leader in merging TradFi equities with DeFi’s accessibility and efficiency.
In the past month, iAssets have recorded more than $2 billion in annualized trading volume with a 56% increase in the number of iAssets from April to May, according to data shared with Token Relations.
Injective’s iAssets could provide new pools of retail and institutional traders with access to high-value equities by eliminating barriers like limited trading hours and geographic restrictions. The intention of iAssets is to also give users more access points to DeFi applications, such as lending pools, derivatives trading and yield-generating strategies, amongst others.
Furthermore, Injective implements real-time pricing via its Oracle Module as well as liquidity aggregation across platforms. This aims to enhance market efficiency, potentially reducing arbitrage opportunities and improving price discovery compared to traditional markets.
This approach can broaden asset variety, while embedding DeFi principles like transparency and permissionless access. By offering a decentralized alternative to centralized or traditional exchanges, Injective expands equity trading to users worldwide.
🥷 The bigger picture: Injective’s support for the MAG 7 via iAssets could accelerate the accessibility of onchain finance and traditional financial instruments.
The inclusion of the MAG 7 stocks demonstrates the platform’s technical capabilities and market relevance, potentially paving the way for further RWA adoption.
As more assets are added to onchain marketplaces like iAssets, it opens up what’s possible for investors when traditional barriers are removed.
