Inside the blockchain
🌐What happened: Aptos Experience was last week and a lot transpired in the jam-packed two day event. (Of course, Token Relations was on the ground getting a first hand look.)
🌐Why does it matter: Last week, Aptos hosted its biggest event in Seoul with over 700 pass holders, 60 speakers, 30 panels and 10 immersive exhibits, according to an X post.
Aptos community members and Move enthusiasts alongside engineers from Aptos Labs and its Foundation team were taking over the Seongsu neighborhood of Seoul. The energy at the event was contagious with builders, prominent ecosystem players and community members buzzing throughout the venue.
There were a number of in-depth discussions, including a fireside chat with Aptos Labs co-founder and CTO Avery Ching hosted by Token Relations (that will be reshared on Talking Tokens soon.)
But in case you missed it, there were a number of announcements like the tokenization firm Libre launching Brevan Howard, BlackRock and Hamilton Lane funds on Aptos; Petra Wallet introducing new features; Aptos Labs announced BlockSTM V2, Aptos Build, RAPTR and Move 2.0; and Arculus partnered with Aptos to launch a hardware wallet for greater tap-to-pay ease, to name a few.
The sheer amount of them speaks to the volume of activity happening within the core team but also alongside ecosystem partners growing the network. The Aptos Labs developments aim to improve the network's speed and capabilities while introducing new optionality for Move developers in its network.
As the Aptos Labs team continues to unveil new updates and features to Aptos, it will continue to provide developers the opportunity to innovate and hopefully attract new ones to build on the network, too.
Separately, projects showcasing their products and contributions to Aptos point to the network’s growth not only from the internal developer team, but those engaged with it as well.
🌐The big picture: Blockchain-specific conferences are a time for core teams, builders and communities to get together. More often than not, they highlight industry trends as well as a vast number of topics, updates and themes within an ecosystem.
Aptos Experience was the blockchain’s first major event and had a substantial number of developments, signaling promise for the chain’s future and roadmap. It also coincided with Korea Blockchain Week, where thousands of industry players and ticket holders flocked for networking and learning opportunities. While not all KBW attendees went to Aptos’ event, it opened the door for non-Aptos users to learn more about the blockchain and engage with the community in person.
