Inside the network
🔺What we’re watching: Aside from Ethereum, Avalanche has the held the highest market cap for the past three weeks for BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, according to RWA.xyz
🔺Why it matters: BlackRock is one of the world’s largest asset managers with over $11 trillion in assets under management (AUM). Its BUIDL fund, tokenized by Securitize, makes up more than $621 million of that total AUM.
In early November, the firm diversified BUIDL’s offerings beyond the Ethereum blockchain and added five new chains: Aptos, Optimism, Polygon, Arbitrium and Avalanche. Since then, the overall fund has grown 16.55% in value from $533.5 million to more than $621.8 million.
Of this total value, Avalanche has contributed $57.1 million in market cap, ranking it number one when compared to the four other networks added in November.
Even though a majority of the fund’s contributions come from Ethereum, Avalanche has been able to maintain a strong presence for BUIDL investors. It makes up about 9.2% of the total funds allocations. This showcases that investors are turning to Avalanche when seeking an alternative to Ethereum for their onchain needs.
🔺The bigger picture: Avalanche is focusing on building an ecosystem that is attractive to TradFi companies who are looking to integrate blockchain technology into their services. The network’s framework emphasizes fast transaction finality, enhanced security and lower transaction costs. These features, combined with strategic partnerships, aim to position Avalanche as a strong choice for TradFi institutions and investors exploring blockchain adoption.
In 2024, Avalanche secured collaborations with traditional institutions, such as Franklin Templeton and Misyon Bank, to bridge the gap between TradFi and DeFi. These partnerships can showcase the growing interest in blockchain solutions and Avalanche’s commitment to bringing TradFi onchain.
For 2025, Avalanche hopes to leverage these high profile partnerships to encourage user adoption and establish itself as a leading network for TradFi use cases that can drive long-term growth and utility.
