AggLayer Spotlight
🟪What happened: Bethel, a zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) data protection and privacy protocol, announced it will deploy to the AggLayer.
🟪Why does it matter: Bethel’s “zkpStorage” platform leverages Polygon’s Chain Development Kit (CDK) and integrates to the AggLayer with hopes to offer secure and scalable data management. Bethel also integrates Privado ID to provide users identity management and data privacy.
Bethel aims to bring ZKP-powered solutions to the AggLayer ecosystem and improve transaction speeds, privacy, and scalability issues that thwart developers today. Additionally, Bethel looks to enhance cross-chain capabilities and contribute toward the problem of modular fragmentation, something the AggLayer also hopes to accomplish.
Bethel’s platform also capitalizes on the “bridgeAndCall()” functionality, provided by the AggLayer, allowing developers to execute smart contracts across chains. This opens up new possibilities for decentralized data management where assets, contracts, and information alike can flow freely and securely between different chains.
If Bethel can overlay already existing infrastructure with ZKP technology, the protocol can ensure that businesses can protect their data while embracing the decentralized future of blockchain technology. With chain interoperability transitioning from an optional feature, to a mandatory one, Bethel can help pave the way for future innovations in data management and privacy between chains that integrate with the AggLayer.
🟪The big picture: As the AggLayer aggregates ZKPs and unifies liquidity, Bethel's ZKP technology can strengthen the privacy of the entire ecosystem and pave the way for more decentralized identity management and cross-chain transactions.
The launch of Bethel combines ZKP with the interoperable framework of the AggLayer. Alongside the integration of Polygon CDK and connection to the AggLayer, this shows the protocol’s commitment to interoperability.
In turn, developers can easily build zk-powered solutions across different blockchain networks, foster seamless interactions between systems and enhance overall network functionality.
