Chainlink By The Numbers

The metrics are accurate at the time of publication. The percentage change is over a 30-day period.

What Caught Our Eye This Month

  • In 2025, Chainlink enabled $27.4 trillion worth of transactions, launched initiatives like the Chainlink Reserve, Runtime Environment, Automated Compliance Engine, and maintained 70% of DeFi oracle share.

  • Blockworks Research’s December report goes into how S&P Global, Deutsche Börse, and FTSE Russell are bringing proprietary data onchain using Chainlink’s DataLink.

  • Etherealize collaborated with Chainlink to produce a guide to better help enterprises understand how blockchains work, what interoperability is, as well as different privacy and governance mechanics.

Chainlink Reserve Approaches $20M in AUM

Chainlink continued to expand its Chainlink Reserve in December with consistent weekly purchases of LINK tokens, bringing its total to 1.42 million LINK tokens.

During the month, the Reserve acquired 442,600 LINK, and continued buying in the new year, purchasing an additional 94,268 LINK on January 1, 2026.

While the number of LINK tokens acquired increased during December, the estimated USD value of each weekly purchase remained relatively flat at approximately $1.2 million, based on LINK’s current price of $13.77. This suggests that higher token acquisition volumes were primarily driven by price dynamics rather than an increase in capital outlay.

Collectively, these purchases pushed the Reserve’s total value to approximately $19.8 million.

By systematically converting revenue into LINK holdings, the network is reinforcing its balance sheet while maintaining flexibility for long-term ecosystem support, operational resilience and strategic initiatives.

Over time, since the Reserve is funded through both onchain and offchain revenue, the ecosystem will look to support a dynamic where sustained revenue generation enables continued reinvestment into the network, strengthening infrastructure and ecosystem development.
