🔸What we’re watching: The Core Foundation partnered with DeFi Technologies subsidiary Valour Inc. to introduce and issue exchange traded products (ETP) for yield-bearing bitcoin (BTC) to German investors in an effort to expand global usage of both bitcoin and Core.
🔸Why it matters: This ETP, Valour Bitcoin Staking (BTC) EUR ETP, operates on the Börse Frankfurt Exchange and give investors the opportunity to gain exposure to bitcoin’s potential upside while gaining an annualized yield of 5.65%.
The product operates on the Core blockchain and will leverage bitcoin through a non-custodial staking mechanism that rewards participants with CORE tokens. Already, over 3,000 BTC have been staked with Core, establishing Core as the platform defining the “Bitcoin risk-free rate.” Those tokens are then reinvested to generate yield, without requiring investors to sell or trade their bitcoin in return.
This ETP redefines bitcoin’s use case as an investment into the digital asset realm. The product can ultimately bring investors a “seamless and secure way” to participate in bitcoin’s growth potential, while also offering a “novel investment avenue” to engage with it, Marco Infuso, chief sales officer of Valour Inc., said in a statement.
The ETP began trading on the German exchange on June 13, following its initial debut in Sweden.
