Highlight of the The Root Networks
💫What’s happening: Allowing users to customize their environments is a form of expression for those within the open metaverse, according to Futureverse co-founder Marco Brondani. And The Root Network wants to help build that technology to provide user empowerment, Brondani said during The Root Network Quarterly Webinar with Token Relations.
💫Why it matters: Ownership is a common talking point for NFTs as to why they became popular in the first place, Brondani noted. However, there is also a crucial piece missing: the ability for users to interact with them.
“One use case from owning an NFT is that you can participate in communities, but it can also be used as a form of expression,” Brondani said. “We want to give users the ability to express themselves through the customization of environments around them within the open metaverse.”
The Futureverse team believes it can empower users by providing them different tools to shape their own experiences. For example, Promptopia, a tool that launched in Q3 lets users create 3D objects in real time using text prompts or generate their own content.
“This content can then be put around themselves in an open metaverse environment,” Brondani added. “This can open up a lot of opportunities for new immersive experiences that are more engaging to users and more customized to their wants.”
“We want to encourage users to participate more and think outside the box,” he added. “[This allows] for more participation so they can express themselves in whatever context they want.”
💫 The bigger picture: In 2025, the Futureverse wants to continue developing more novel ways that helps empowers users. Brondani said the team wants to make it as simple as possible for developers to integrate customization services that empower users.
Alongside other features, the Futureverse hopes to showcase the capabilities of the open metaverse and how it can shape user experiences.
