Inside the network

🔺What we’re watching: Avalanche revealed the blueprint and ideology for its upcoming network upgrade, Avalanche9000.

🔺Why it matters: This network upgrade aims to make launching an Avalanche layer-1 blockchain (L1) more cost and time efficient, while also handling more customization, and be easier to maintain.

Avalanche9000 looks to provide reassurance that each chain can benefit from the robust architecture of being an L1, while also providing interoperability across the Avalanche ecosystem. Developers can integrate multi-chain solutions, which in turn creates opportunity for more exploration and innovation, all while lowering the financial burden that typically comes with L1 deployments.

The network upgrade also hopes to provide enhanced scalability by providing interaction between multiple L1s through Avalanche interchain messaging. This can make L1s act as one interconnected network; opposed to the current system of L1s, which often faces network congestion, high gas fees, and scaling limitations as demand increases.

As more developers enter the world of blockchain technology and explore the route of building their own networks, it is important to choose a network that caters toward their needs. If Avalanche can stay ahead of the curve and offer developers tailored, specific elements such as security, liquidity, or even the infrastructure of the primary chain, building on top of Avalanche can continue to be a go-to choice in the space.

In general, businesses and traditional gaming studios have also shown interest in using blockchain technology. While web2 companies have their own way of operating, Avalanche can approach them with flexibility and foster innovation across a broader range of use cases for deployment purposes. In turn, it could pave the way for future developments and deployments of L1s.

🔺The bigger picture: The ability to deploy customized L1s within a cohesive and interoperable network can reduce the economic and technical barriers to entry for developers. This can open up opportunities for faster go-to-market strategies and more efficient resource utilization.

If the network upgrade Avalanche9000 sees success from community members and developers, it can shift the way blockchain technology is utilized for building chains and on top of tech stacks.
