Inside the blockchain

🌐What happened: Aptos-based event ticketing platform KYD Labs is parenting with a historic NYC music venue, Le Poisson Rouge (LPR), in a multi-year agreement that will power all shows and tickets through the Aptos blockchain.

🌐Why does it matter: LPR is leveraging the Aptos blockchain and KYD Labs’ technology to provide a transparent and secure ticketing platform, while changing the way fans engage with music.

KYD Labs will provide customer acquisition tools to automate data usage to connect venues and artists with their audiences in a more streamlined manner. This could potentially provide a more efficient and greater experience for fans, artists, and the venue.

Additionally, LPR will monitor secondary ticket sales transparently and offer improved loyalty programs by utilizing Aptos’s low-transaction cost network. In turn, this could also open the door for LPR and KYD Labs to reward recurring fans in a new, novel way.

Unlike legacy ticketing platforms that charge high fees, the partnership aims to shift the power back to artists and venues, which could improve the overall ticketing and music experience for fans.

🌐The big picture: LPR hopes to onboard fans to crypto by providing artists with insight into their audiences through on-chain technology and real-world use cases.

This move not only enhances the ticketing experience for fans, but also empowers artists and venues by giving them direct access to fan data and engagement opportunities through on-chain initiatives.

LPR’s use of blockchain technology for ticketing, loyalty programs, and event management could pave the way for broader adoption of on-chain solutions in the entertainment industry.
