What Caught Our Eye This Month
Movement Network completed an operating transition that makes Move Industries its primary service provider, responsible for building, operating, and growing the network, while the Foundation remains the independent steward.
Move Alliance introduced an ecosystem incentive model where ten ecosystem projects have already committed 50-100% of its protocol revenue to buying back MOVE tokens. Initial members include: Joule, Canopy, Matrix, Meridian, Mosaic, Moveposition, Yuzu, Echelon, LayerBank, and DoubleUp.
Movement Monthly Spotlight

Movement completed the migration of its blockchain, M1, to be a layer-1 (L1) network from a layer-2 (L2).
For most cases, L2s depend on external chains they’re built on for settlement and typically use centralized sequencers to order transactions. These dependencies can limit how networks control execution, upgrades and security assumptions.
In contrast, L1s controls its own consensus and execution environment. Movement’s M1, by design, is to remove reliance on centralized sequencers and external settlement layers. This can pave the way for greater flexibility such as setting its own performance and governance parameters.
The launch also introduced native staking for the MOVE token. Only unlocked tokens are eligible to earn staking rewards. Tokens that are locked, including those held by the team, cannot be staked, concentrating validator incentives among circulating token holders. At the time of writing, there are 403.67 million MOVE tokens staked on the network.
As a standalone L1, M1 now serves as the base layer for the Movement ecosystem. The network plans to support application-specific L2s that settle back to M1, using it as a shared execution and settlement layer.
