Ondo integrates tokenized treasury fund on XRP Ledger
Ripple Monthly Overview - February 7, 2025
Welcome to the Ripple Overview. Before we dive in, here’s a quick breakdown:
Ripple provides digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions and is a key contributor to the layer-1 blockchain XRP Ledger (XRPL).
XRPL is intentionally designed for the efficient tokenization and exchange of crypto-native and real-world assets. It aims to provide low-cost, high-performance solutions for tokenization and multi-currency exchange. Its native token, $XRP, facilitates transactions on the network, and aims to protect the ledger from spam, and bridges currencies.
Recently, Ripple launched its stablecoin, $RLUSD, which is backed by a segregated reserve of cash and cash equivalents, redeemable at 1:1 for USD. It is available on XRPL and Ethereum.
Every month, we’re diving into Ripple, XRP, XRPL, RLUSD and more. We’re sharing the latest ecosystem developments to help readers get up to speed on its biggest updates, metrics, insights and more.
Ripple by the numbers
XRP: $2.47 (+8.88%)
XRP Holders: 419.05K
XRPL TVL: 80.37M (+30.6%)

Ripple Rundown
➡️What happened: Ondo Finance is deploying its tokenized fund, Ondo Short-Term US Government Treasuries (OUSG), to the XRP Ledger.
➡️Why does it matter: The integration of OUSG on XRP Ledger creates new opportunities for institutional investors to access US Treasury yields through digital tokens, combining traditional finance with the benefits of blockchain security and efficiency.
OUSG bridges a regulated product with institutional standards, allowing investors to “manage cash, optimize portfolios, and access high-quality yield products entirely onchain” Ondo stated.
The fund collaborated with BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund and uses KYC/AML rules for all transactions, making it suitable for regulated institutions.
This platform helps institutions manage large transactions without the delays of traditional banking for settlement and liquidity. OUSG and RLUSD markets are 24/7, allowing users to move funds around freely without the traditional trading hour restrictions.
XRPL’s high throughput and low fees make it practical for tokenized RWAs as well as broader adoption of DeFi for financial institutions. The chain has advanced features like price oracles and an upcoming Multi-Purpose Tokens element, providing a flexible token standard for tokenizing and holding metadata. The chain can also act as a secure foundation for institutions to access treasury management tools without traditional market restrictions.
➡️The big picture: Ondo’s OUSG deployment can help further integrate blockchain technology into traditional financial products for more accessible and efficient markets.
The combination of XRPL's infrastructure and OUSG's treasury products creates options for institutional investors with the security of tokenization and underlying blockchain. This partnership demonstrates how blockchain technology can enhance, rather than replace, traditional financial systems.
In general, XRPL has positioned itself as a bridge between traditional finance and blockchain. The network offers tools specifically developed for financial institutions with over ten years of cross-border payments experience. Future features like Multi-Purpose Tokens and Permissioned Domains can help make XRPL a home for tokenization and real world assets, alongside security frameworks that are suitable for financial institutions.
