Polygon Spotlight
🟪What happened: Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS), an EVM-compatible blockchain protocol, is now being supported by Farcaster Frames. This will allow users to make Polygon PoS transactions straight from the feed of web3 prediction market Polymarket.
🟪Why does it matter: Farcaster Frames allows users to mint NFTs, sign up for events, and make predictions directly from the Farcaster feed.
Polymarket, a Polygon-based decentralized prediction market platform that has gained attention from web3 natives and non-crypto audiences this year, has built a Frame already.
But now, this integration could potentially enhance the capabilities of Farcaster Frames – making it easier for users to perform onchain activities directly from their Farcaster feed instead of having to go back and forth between platforms.
A Community Grants Program, which will focus on projects building with Farcaster Frames, has also been announced. Applicants can apply for those grants in August and more details will be shared soon, the team stated.
“Just off the top of our heads, you could: build an onchain homage to 8-bit video games, to be played in Warpcast, or innovate a custom GPT within Frames,” Polygon Labs wrote on Thursday.
🟪The big picture: The introduction of Polygon PoS support in Farcaster Frames underscores Polygon’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the developer community.
Given the growth Farcaster Frames has seen in recent months, it is poised to become a hub for onchain experiences as it continues to integrate with popular platforms like Polymarket.
As Farcaster Frames continues to evolve, it will likely attract more developers and users. In turn, it could further strengthen Polygon's position in the blockchain space as a backbone technology for innovation and bringing users onchain.
