Highlight of the The Root Networks
Diving deeper into some of the biggest updates from Futureverse.
💫What’s happening: Readyverse Studios announced it teamed up with special effects company Wētā Workshop to contribute toward building OPEN.
💫Why it matters: This partnership aims to enhance OPEN, a "multi-genre" battle royale game, by blending in storytelling, aesthetically pleasing visuals, and decentralized technology.
Readyverse looks to expand its appeal to both gamers and NFT enthusiasts by incorporating IP character brands such as Neo Tokyo, Cool Cats, Reebok and DeLorean.
Wētā Workshop's involvement hopes to make OPEN stand out visually inside a crowded battle royale genre by leveraging their expertise in special effects. The team has previously worked on immersive gaming experiences for Lord of the Rings and Avatar.
Incorporating various community IPs aligns with OPEN’s mission statement to integrate web3 technologies into ecosystems. This can also allow for greater asset interoperability and digital ownership in gaming.
If these partners can help OPEN create a visually appealing metaverse experience, as well as incorporate native web3-like attributes, it can become a game that competes with household web2 brands. If these two partners bring in their strong track records and skillset to this initiative, then OPEN can differentiate itself as a leader in the space and become the go-to game for metaverse gaming.
💫 The bigger picture: As Readyverse Studios looks to build momentum around OPEN, it joins a broader movement of companies looking to redefine gaming through the integration of web3 technology and the open metaverse.
Readyverse aims to position itself as a leader in this emerging space by partnering with Wētā Workshop, Neo Tokyo, and other brands. The game studio looks to bring familiar IPs, visual storytelling tools, and decentralized digital assets to create a game that could redefine how players experience gaming worlds.
As IP brands look for new opportunities to gain traction, OPEN could serve as a frontrunner if it can offer players a seamless blend of gaming, technology, and digital ownership.
