Injective By the Numbers

Injecting in the biggest developments

Highlighting some of the largest announcements from Injective.

🥷What’s happening: Injective deployed equity trading onchain for McDonalds (MCD), Robinhood (HOOD), MicroStrategy (MSTR), Coinbase (COIN) and Tesla (TSLA) via Helix.

🥷Why it matters: Accessibility and diversification are two significant elements for many traders. Injective is continuing its efforts to bridge traditional equities with decentralized finance (DeFi) by offering traders access to more stocks onchain, in part with its iAsset initiative.

What stands out in this latest batch of stocks coming onchain is the inclusion of HOOD, COIN and MSTR. These two equities are commonly associated with the blockchain space and cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, given their external initiatives with the sector.  By providing these assets to web3 traders using Injective’s network, it pushes the boundaries of onchain financial instruments and blends TradFi with DeFi.

In general, iAssets are designed to change how traders are able to interact with real-world assets and lower the barrier for participation in traditional markets through a blockchain. This creates opportunities for increased trading volume and showcases the capabilities of DeFi in traditional finance outlets.

Unlike traditional models, where in order to trade equities a user would have to lock their capital, iAssets can integrate familiar crypto trading strategies such as perp trading.

🥷 The bigger picture: Earlier this month, Injective released iAssets with Nvidia (NVDA) as its first equity to be a part of the initiative. It has generated more than $13.6 million in trading volume, showcasing demand for equity trading onchain.

With the addition of TSLA, MCD, HOOD, COIN and MSTR, the protocol can provide more accessibility with real-time pricing and cross-network liquidity.

If the latest asset additions follow similar success to NVDA’s integration, it can bring in more liquidity and traction as well as attract new retail traders and institutional players into the blockchain world.
