🔺What we’re watching: Robo Kiden, an upcoming free 5v5 mecha shooting game, was just acquired by game launcher Elixir Games and powered by Avalanche. Elixir Games sees high potential in the game, thwarting it as the platform’s flagship game.
🔺Why it matters: Elixir Games is a PC gaming launcher primarily focused on web3 games and backed by Square Enix. With its upcoming $KIDEN token, their in-game economy will allow for users to purchase LootBoxes and NFTs, allowing for an easier onboarding experience and more blockchain-based benefits for gamers.
Elixir Games also partnered with Ava Labs. “Our goal at Elixir has always been to bring engaging and innovative IPs to our platform,” Carlos Roldan, CEO of Elixir Games, said in a blog post. “By partnering with Ava Labs, leaders in the development of Web3 tech specifically designed for gaming, we can’t wait for players to start diving into this vibrant arena shooter.”
🔺TLDR: Elixir’s acquisition of Robo Kiden, a highly anticipated web3 game, could be a major move that helps scale the Avalanche web3 gaming sector to new heights and brings gamers new experiences through in-game economies, rewards and more.
